PODOSmart ®The Smart Insoles For Precise Gait Analysis
Measuring Your Walking In Real Life Conditions
PODOSmart® is the latest technology which allows us to accurately measure and analyze your walking profile and gait to refine your diagnosis.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The PODOSmart® system uses smart insoles that feature in-built sensors that detect the smallest foot movements and an integrated micro-processor that calculates Biomechanical data.
1) The PODOSmart® insoles are placed within your shoes
2) A short walk in clinic is required to calibrate the insoles to your individual walking profile
3) A walk of up to 15 minutes is carried out to collect detailed information on your walking profile
4) The results are analysed on a computer/tablet by our Practitioner to prvoide a comprehensive review of your biomechanical efficiency
The PODOSmart® system uses the latest technology to accurately measure your walking profile in just a few minutes.
It provides 13 different metrics to allow us to conduct an in-depth analysis of your biomechanical capabilities.
THE PODOSmart® SYSTEM MEASURES THE 13 PARAMETERS THAT MAKE UP YOUR WALKING PROFILE…
STRIDE AVERAGE SPEED
NUMBER OF STEPS
LENGTH OF STEPS
DYNAMIC PRONATION SUPINATION
The PODOSmart® data is used to develop a treatment programme tailored to meet your individual needs, whether that’s bespoke insoles, exercising or stretching.
WHAT IS A MUSCULAR SKELETAL ASSESSMENT/GAIT ANALYSIS?
A MSA/GA is the analysis of the body’s movements when you stand and walk.
It involves an examination of the lower limbs, looking at their structure, alignment, strengths and weaknesses.
The examination is not focused simply upon the foot but includes the pelvis, legs and knees, assessing the relationship between them.
It is important to examine the lower limbs as a whole as they are closely connected and pain in one area can be due to a weakness or structural problem in another area.
We’re delighted to be able to offer you a MSA/GA assessment using this advanced technology.
The insoles contain several microprocessors which detect the smallest foot movements.
They are placed within your footwear and you’ll be asked to proceed to a walking activity.
Following a review of your assessment, we wil recommend treatments such as wearing shoes designed for your gait, wearing insoles or the prescription of custom made orthotics or referrals to a physiotherapist, osteopath or rheumatologist, depending on your results.
